Latest Stuff Coming Down the pipe

by David Kelley on July 30, 2009

A couple of things to note, we are going to start a couple of virtual SIG’s:  one for Adobe technologies ,and one for Silverlight.  Based on attendee’s feedback this is something we need to do  to keep the amount of meetings we have  each month to a minimum.  We came up with the idea of having virtual SIG’s and doing a monthly lunch time open forum via live meeting.  For example we might have it called

‘Lunch with Interact on Adobe’ - at noon (pacific time), the first wednesday of each month.

… and we would have guest speakers do demos and have lots of QA time, being specific to the technology area of the meeting while having the same for the Silverlight virtual SIG.

Let us know your thoughts.

What’s in a name?

SD2IG sounds alot like a robot from star wars.  But that happens to be the short version of who we are:  ‘Seattle’s Designer Developer Interaction Group’.

InteractWe started to search for a shorter name and have come upon a name that we’re all very happy with.  ‘Interact’ with the SD2it as a subtitle or definition.  We have a real design for a logo and revamp of the site in the works but we all have full-time jobs so this has taken some time.

We hope to have something live within a month or two.  In the mean time, here is a placeholder for the logo which hopefully will assist with an easy transition between the two names.

How come the virtual meetings are at the same time. What if we would like to attend both the adobe and silverlight meetings?

Maybe they could be at different time next month.

Hello Ryan,

I just wanted to let you know – they’re not at the same time. One is the first wednesday of each month(at noon, Pacific time), the other is the second wednesday of each month(also Pacific time) and then our in-person conglomerate on the third wednesday of each month (7pm Pacific).

I see that now. disappointing that the Silverlight meeting didn’t happen :(

Or if it did, I never got the email invite. Hopefully next month.
